Another Update on the Unending Pregnancy....
So, we're back at home again, more waiting. We had a doctor's appointment today and Dr. Nord did a sonogram and checked out about 2 million things on me. So here's the quick summary: I am showing 'signs' of pre-eclampsia but my blood work came back okay. My blood pressure was still super high today (but it came down some when I laid down) and I am retaining a lot of fluid. At this point in time, I have to go back in for more blood work on Friday and see if there are any changes. If so, then we get to meet Lincoln on Friday! If not, then we're back on schedule for next Tuesday. It's been a crazy day and all I have to say is that I'm glad I'm going to bed soon and I'm really thankful that Dr. Nord is my doctor. There have been a few times recently when I have been frustrated and did not understand why he was doing certain things but I was reassured today that he really DOES know what he's doing and I'm certain that God's hand is directing him. For example, I did not understand why I was continuing to get shots for contractions (I had 3 shots last week) because they weren't doing anything to my cervix and once they stopped being so intense, they weren't really bothering me that much. So it just annoyed me that I kept having to get shots. So I asked him about it today and... lo and behold, Katie does not have a MD and should not be getting so frustrated! I know, you're amazed. Apparently, the reason I had to keep getting the shots is because the contractions can put a lot of stress and pressure on my incision from my c-section with Ellie and since that was such a short time ago and it didn't heal properly to begin with, the contractions could cause my incision to tear (which can be a life threatening situation). So, there we go, I didn't know what was best and I just needed to trust that he did! Granted, I think that there is a time to just listen to your body and heart and go with it, but I also needed to get the facts. And the facts are, I'm glad that I'm in Dr. Nord's hands and I'm confident that he is making the best decisions. He also told me I'm pretty much supposed to be resting all the time now, which is causing some chaos, but all in all, I think we'll survive! :-)
Speaking of the short amount of time that it has been since my c-section with Ellie...she is officially one year old tomorrow! :-) YEA!!! Although we celebrated a few weeks ago, tomorrow is really her BIG day! So she has a doctor's appointment and has to get shots (YUCK!) but I think we're going to go to McDonalds or something to get ice cream for her after that. I'm sure she'll enjoy it! :-) I will try to post pictures tomorrow of our BIG ONE YEAR OLD!!! YEA!!!

Wow, you really have been through everything with your pregnancy. I am sure that you are ready for it to all be over with, but it sounds like Dr. Nord is doing what is best for you and Lincoln. Either way, you will get to meet him in less than a week. How exciting! Good luck with everything and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers! Try to get some rest this next week and tell Ellie, "HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!!!" Enjoy your day with her and thanks for the updates!
